Jared's roots are in Utah County where he was raised around horses. He was active in 4h, FFA, and high school and college rodeo. His first real job was cleaning stalls at Rocky Mountain Large Animal Clinic, and he worked for several years as a veterinary assistant at RMLAC. He also earned a farrier's certificate from Oklahoma School of Horseshoeing and used that skill to help put himself through school.

Jared graduated from Utah State University and received a Veterinary degree from Purdue University in 2010. His education focused specifically on horses, spending time learning and working at large hospitals such as Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington Kentucky, and Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. He completed a one-year internship and later worked for three years as an associate at Desert Pines Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Christensen is excited to be back home and to help provide the best possible health strategies and performance solutions for our horse companions and athletes.
